You've probably been carrying this for a while.
Maybe you’ve gotten good at managing it. Maybe you’ve tried things before that didn’t quite land. What you’re looking for is something that really works for you, a space where you feel truly seen and can begin to feel like yourself again.
That’s what this work is for.
About Me
Hi, I’m Yechezkel Magid, founder of Realm Psychotherapy and a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
I work with adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and the lasting effects of early experiences that didn’t feel emotionally safe or reliable. Sessions are available virtually across Ontario.
My practice is built on the belief that healing begins with feeling truly seen, and that the right kind of support can help you understand yourself in ways that change how you feel and how you move through the world. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and adapt to what makes sense for each person.
What working together can offer
People who work with me often describe a gradual but real sense of steadiness, like the ground under them has gotten a little more solid. The anxiety doesn’t run the show as much. The relationship feels less like a battlefield. The patterns that used to feel automatic start to have a little more space around them. More room to choose how you respond, and less weight in simply getting through the day.
This isn’t about arriving at some fixed destination. It’s about developing a different relationship with your own experience, one where things feel less overwhelming and more navigable.
Some of what people find:
- A growing sense of calm and inner steadiness, even in difficult moments
- Greater clarity about what they're feeling, and why
- Relief from the shame or confusion that's been keeping them stuck
- A sense of being understood, sometimes for the first time
- Steadier relationships with others and with themselves
- More capacity to respond to life rather than just react to it
A little more about me
I’m Yechezkel (yeh-KHEZ-kel) Magid. The name is a mouthful, I know.
I became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people, what shapes us, what gets in the way, and what makes genuine change possible. I’ve spent years developing a practice that addresses both a person’s internal world and the effects of their relational and social environment, one that honors the past while being rooted in the present.
My style tends to be warm, collaborative, and deeply curious. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Each person brings their own world into the room, and we work from there. I take my work seriously, but I try not to take myself too seriously. Therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time.
Outside the office, I’m someone who finds meaning in ideas, in connection, and in quiet time in nature.
I’d love to work with you.

How I Work
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. The process is collaborative and shaped by what you bring in. Whether we’re working together one-on-one or in couples therapy, we go at your pace, with space for curiosity, honesty, and real emotion
Here are some of the approaches I draw from:
For individual therapy:
-
Psychodynamic Therapy
– Understanding how past relationships and patterns may still be shaping your life today -
IFS (Internal Family Systems)
- Exploring the different parts of you (the angry part, the avoidant part, the people-pleasing part) and helping those parts feel heard, not judged -
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
- Using mindfulness and acceptance to help you stay grounded and respond with clarity, not just reaction -
Somatic awareness
- Learning to recognize how emotions live in your body, and how to feel safer in your own skin -
Narrative therapy
– Seeing our sessions as an ongoing conversation with your inner world, using language and presence to access both cognitive and somatic experiences
For couples therapy:
-
Attachment-based work
- Looking at how your past experiences show up in your current relationship, and how both partners can move toward connection -
Imago-informed therapy
– Creating space for deeper empathy and learning to see each other through a more compassionate lens -
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
– Building safety, trust, and emotional understanding between you and your partner
This Might Be a Good Place to Start
If something feels heavy or stuck, you don’t have to carry it alone.
We can start slow and see where it goes.
